The TRS4-48M is a Type 2 (T2) surge protective device (SPD) designed for ±48V DC systems, compliant with the IEC 61643-11 standard. It features a maximum continuous operating voltage of 75V DC, a nominal discharge current of 20kA, a maximum discharge current of 40kA, and a voltage protection level of ≤0.6kV.
Specifically engineered for -48V DC telecommunication power systems—such as those found in communication base stations, 48V DC power cabinets, server power supply units, and the DC side of UPS systems—the TRS4-48M provides protection against lightning-induced surges and switching transients. It safeguards downstream communication equipment, transmission modules, and network switches from the impact of transient overvoltages, ensuring the stable operation of the DC power supply system.
